Dr. Tamez is a highly respected Otolaryngologist/Head and Neck Surgeon for both pediatric and adult patients. Dr. Tamez has been successfully treating thousands of families since he established his private practice in 1998. Dr. Tamez continues to be recognized as a Top Doctor here in Austin by the Austin Monthly Magazine, having been awarded the accolade in 2015, 2016, 2018, and 2019.  

Dr. Tamez is passionate about improving your family’s quality of life and health through his continuous education, ensuring that he is on the frontier of medical and technological advancements. 

Dr. Tamez enjoys spending time with his wonderful wife, JoAnn, and their three beautiful daughters. Together, the Tamez family delights in traveling, in the arts, in great food, and in getting outdoors for some golf and tennis.

Tejas Hearing Aid Center would like to introduce our Audiologist, Dr. Jessica Tumolillo. Dr. Tumolillo brings a wealth of experience when taking care of your hearing healthcare. 

Jessica received her Bachelor of Science in Communicative Disorders from the University of Rhode Island, where she graduated Magna Cum Laude. She received her Doctorate of Audiology from the University of Connecticut. Jess completed her clinical fellowship in Savannah, Georgia at ENT Associates of Savannah, where she was hired on after completing her Doctorate. After working there for a few years, Jess worked at Physician’s Hearing Center in Alabama, while her husband completed the Aviation Captain’s Career Course. She has specialized in hearing aids, cochlear implants, vestibular testing, and evoked potentials. We are blessed that her husband has had a permanent change of station to Fort Hood, which has allowed Jess to join our team. Jess is a Fellow of the American Academy of Audiology (F-AAA) and holds a certificate of clinical competency (CCC-A) from the American Speech Language and Hearing Association (ASHA). 

When Jess is not helping others, she and her husband Brian, enjoy exploring new cultures, environments, and places. They also enjoy spending time with their beloved dog, Callie. 

Jennifer Barnes, FNP-C

Registered Advanced Practice Nurse

Jennifer is a Registered Advanced Practice Nurse in Texas. She is affiliated with the American Association of Nurse Practitioners, Texas Nurse Practitioners, the American Rhinological Society, and the American Academy of Family Physicians. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree from Texas Tech University Health Science Center and a Master’s of Science in Nursing degree from Walden University in Minneapolis. She is a Board Certified Nurse Practitioner (Family). She is also recognized by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners (FNP-C), and is duly authorized and certified in the areas of Pediatric and Adult Advanced Life Support. 

Her extensive experience in the provision of Family Healthcare, Urgent Care Medicine, Post-Acute Care, Elite Patient Care, Pulmonology and Sleep Medicine, Heart and Lung Transplant Support, Advanced Cardiothoracic Intensive Care, and Rapid Response, make Jennifer an invaluable asset here at Tejas ENT, and she is a central part of our team’s passion to provide life-changing medical to our patients. 

Jennifer and her husband, Jake, love to spend time with their three young children outdoors fishing, traveling, and going to baseball games.

Raquel Gonzalez, NP

Raquel Gonzalez, NP
Advanced Practice Registered Nurse

Raquel is an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse licensed and certified in the state of Texas by the American Association of Nurse Practitioners. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Texas at Austin, and a Master’s degrees in Nursing from Texas Tech University Health Science Center. She is recognized by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioner and certified in Family Practice (FNP-C) with advanced training in Pediatrics, Adult and Geriatrics care management. Raquel has worked in a variety of clinical setting including acute inpatient setting including ICU, Telemetry/Cardiology, Post-Acute care rehabilitation services, long-term residential care, and family practice. Raquel has also worked as a clinical nurse educator for nursing students at the University of Texas, and Austin Community College. 

In her spare time, Raquel enjoys spending quality time with her husband, daughter, and their two dogs. Her family is excited to welcome her new baby boy, coming this July! 

Janet Davila, Au.D.

Audiologist

Janet grew up in Brownsville, Texas and received her Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education from Baylor University in Waco, Texas, where she graduated Cum Laude.  She was a classroom teacher for sixteen years and taught elementary students and middle-school science.  

She retired from teaching and went back to school to obtain a Clinical Doctorate in Audiology from Lamar University in Beaumont, Texas.  When she completed her doctoral program, she was invited to stay at the university as the staff audiologist where she led the management of the hearing clinic and was the Deaf Co-Op audiologist for the Big Thicket Education Co-Op.  She moved to the Austin area in 2008, where she worked as a clinical audiologist for the Austin Diagnostic Clinic for ten years.  She also worked for a short period for the Austin ENT group before she came to Tejas ENT.

 Janet has expertise in diagnostic audiological evaluations and hearing aid selection and fitting for adults and children.  Janet’s background as a professional educator and audiologist makes her especially passionate about the hearing abilities of children and their success in school.
