Oscar A. Tamez, M.D.
Otolaryngologist, Head and Neck Surgeon, ENT Surgeon (Ear, Nose and Throat)
Dr. Tamez is a highly respected Otolaryngologist/Head and Neck Surgeon for both pediatric and adult patients. Dr. Tamez has been successfully treating thousands of families since he established his private practice in 1998. Dr. Tamez continues to be recognized as a Top Doctor here in Austin by the Austin Monthly Magazine, having been awarded the accolade in 2015, 2016, 2018, and 2019.
Dr. Tamez is passionate about improving your family’s quality of life and health through his continuous education, ensuring that he is on the frontier of medical and technological advancements.
Dr. Tamez enjoys spending time with his wonderful wife, JoAnn, and their three beautiful daughters. Together, the Tamez family delights in traveling, in the arts, in great food, and in getting outdoors for some golf and tennis.

Jennifer Barnes, FNP-C
Advanced Practice Nurse
Jennifer is a Board Certified Advanced Practice Nurse in Texas. She holds a Bachelor's degree in Science of Nursing from Texas Tech University Health Science Center and a Master's in Science of Nursing from Walden University. She is affiliated with the American Association of Nurse Practitioners, Texas Nurse Practitioners, the American Rhinological Society, and the American Academy of Family Physicians.
Jennifer has extensive experience in the provision of Family Healthcare, Urgent Care Medicine, Post-Acute Care, Pulmonology and Sleep Medicine, Heart and Lung Transplant, Ventricular Assist Device (LVAD) specialist, Cardiothoracic Intensive Care charge nurse and Rapid Response team leader, making Jennifer an invaluable asset here at Tejas ENT. She is a central part of our team's passion to provide life-changing medical care to our patients.
Jennifer and her husband, Jake, love to spend time with their three young children outdoors fishing, traveling, and going to baseball games.
Andrew Kester, FNP-C
Advanced Practice Nurse
Andrew is a Board Certified Advanced Practice Nurse in Texas. He holds a Bachelor’s degree and Master’s degree in Science of Nursing from the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor in Belton, Texas. He is a Board Certified Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP-C) by the American Association of Nurse Practitioners and is affiliated with Austin Advanced Practice Nurses and Texas Nurse Practitioners
Andrew has extensive experience in primary care medicine and care of patients in multiple ICU settings including level 1 trauma, medical, cardiothoracic, liver failure, and organ transplant. He also was an adjunct professor of nursing at the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor for four years.
Andrew has a passion for people and desires them to live their lives to the highest possible degree of health. He and his wife Sara live in Leander and have a 13 month old son, Andrew Jr. He enjoys spending time with his wife and son, watching the Houston Astros, coffee roasting, brewing craft coffee, his Belgian Malinois Mischka, and his church family at the Austin Stone.
Laurel Eng, Au.D. CCC-A
Audiologist, Certified Clinical Competence in Audiology
Dr. Eng is licensed to practice audiology in the state of Texas and holds the Certificate of Clinical Competence in Audiology (CCC-A) from the American Speech-Language Hearing Association (ASHA). As a native Virginian, Dr. Laurel Eng moved to Austin in 2002. She graduated from the University of Texas at Austin with her bachelors of science in 2013, and received her doctorate of audiology in 2018. While in graduate school, Dr. Eng gained a variety of experiences treating adults and pediatrics within the Austin community. She completed her fourth year externship at Central Texas Hearing Center in Austin, where she was invited to remain as a licensed audiologist, and did so for one year.
She has special interest in holistic counseling and treatment of hearing loss. Dr. Eng takes great pleasure in positively guiding patients through the process of managing and living well with hearing loss.
Dr. Eng currently works part time at Tejas Ear, Nose and Throat, and spends the remainder of her days at home, caring for her two young children. She enjoys spending time with her family, jogging, exploring Austin with children in tow, and being involved in her church community.
Nancy Innes, AuD
Dr. Innes comes to us with 25 years plus experience in Audiology. She attended the University of Hawaii-Manoa and graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in 1991. Following this, she returned to the mainland to obtain her Master of Arts degree in audiology in 1994 from the University of Texas at Austin. In the pursuit of a career in audiology, Dr. Innes graduated with her doctorate in audiology in 2009 from Central Michigan University.
Dr. Innes’ specialty is in hearing aids and aural rehabilitation. She is especially interested in hearing loss and how it affects the brain.
In her spare time, she enjoys camping, fishing, reading, and quilting. Dr. Innes is mom to 3 terrific adult children and a beautiful daughter-in-law. She and her husband, Mike, live in Leander with their beloved dog.
