Dr. Tamez is a highly respected Otolaryngologist/Head and Neck Surgeon for both pediatric and adult patients. Dr. Tamez has been successfully treating thousands of families since he established his private practice in 1998. Dr. Tamez continues to be recognized as a Top Doctor here in Austin by the Austin Monthly Magazine, having been awarded the accolade in 2015, 2016, 2018, and 2019.  

Dr. Tamez is passionate about improving your family’s quality of life and health through his continuous education, ensuring that he is on the frontier of medical and technological advancements. 

Dr. Tamez enjoys spending time with his wonderful wife, JoAnn, and their three beautiful daughters. Together, the Tamez family delights in traveling, in the arts, in great food, and in getting outdoors for some golf and tennis.

Registered Advanced Practice Nurse

Jennifer is a Registered Advanced Practice Nurse in Texas. She is affiliated with the American Association of Nurse Practitioners, Texas Nurse Practitioners, the American Rhinological Society, and the American Academy of Family Physicians. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree from Texas Tech University Health Science Center and a Master’s of Science in Nursing degree from Walden University in Minneapolis. She is a Board Certified Nurse Practitioner (Family). She is also recognized by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners (FNP-C), and is duly authorized and certified in the areas of Pediatric and Adult Advanced Life Support. 

Her extensive experience in the provision of Family Healthcare, Urgent Care Medicine, Post-Acute Care, Elite Patient Care, Pulmonology and Sleep Medicine, Heart and Lung Transplant Support, Advanced Cardiothoracic Intensive Care, and Rapid Response, make Jennifer an invaluable asset here at Tejas ENT, and she is a central part of our team’s passion to provide life-changing medical care to our patients. 

Jennifer and her husband, Jake, love to spend time with their three young children outdoors fishing, traveling, and going to baseball games.

Andrew Kester, FNP-C

Andrew Kester, FNP-C
Advanced Practice Nurse

Andrew is a Board Certified Advanced Practice Nurse in Texas. He holds a Bachelor’s degree and Master’s degree in Science of Nursing from the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor in Belton, Texas. He is a Board Certified Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP-C) by the American Association of Nurse Practitioners and is affiliated with Austin Advanced Practice Nurses and Texas Nurse Practitioners

Andrew has extensive experience in primary care medicine and care of patients in multiple ICU settings including level 1 trauma, medical, cardiothoracic, liver failure, and organ transplant. He also was an adjunct professor of nursing at the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor for four years.

Andrew has a passion for people and desires them to live their lives to the highest possible degree of health. He and his wife Sara live in Leander and have a 13 month old son, Andrew Jr. He enjoys spending time with his wife and son, watching the Houston Astros, coffee roasting, brewing craft coffee, his Belgian Malinois Mischka, and his church family at the Austin Stone.

Audiologist, Certified Clinical Competence in Audiology

Dr. Eng is licensed to practice audiology in the state of Texas and holds the Certificate of Clinical Competence in Audiology (CCC-A) from the American Speech-Language Hearing Association (ASHA). As a native Virginian, Dr. Laurel Eng moved to Austin in 2002. She graduated from the University of Texas at Austin with her bachelors of science in 2013, and received her doctorate of audiology in 2018. While in graduate school, Dr. Eng gained a variety of experiences treating adults and pediatrics within the Austin community. She completed her fourth year externship at Central Texas Hearing Center in Austin, where she was invited to remain as a licensed audiologist, and did so for one year.

She has special interest in holistic counseling and treatment of hearing loss. Dr. Eng takes great pleasure in positively guiding patients through the process of managing and living well with hearing loss.

Dr. Eng currently works part time at Tejas Ear, Nose and Throat, and spends the remainder of her days at home, caring for her two young children. She enjoys spending time with her family, jogging, exploring Austin with children in tow, and being involved in her church community.

Paula Kleck, DEHS-CED, SLP-A

Paula Kleck, DEHS-CED, SLP-A
Hearing Instrument Specialist

Paula Kleck graduated in 2008 from the University of Northern Colorado with a Bachelors of Science in Audiology and Speech Language Sciences. She began her career as a Speech Language Pathology Assistant (SLP-A) and went on to complete her Masters of Science in Deaf Education and Hearing Sciences in 2013 from the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio. She is a Certified Deaf Education Teacher and Certified SLP-A. 

Paula obtained her Hearing Instrument Specialist License in 2014 and began working with the adult population in the clinic setting, treating hearing loss and providing aural rehabilitation for her patients using the 5 Keys to Communication. Because Paula believes there is more to treating hearing loss than the fitting of the hearing devices, Paula provides a comprehensive program with each patient to make sure they are successful at managing their hearing loss, no matter the situation.
